Hello!

Welcome to my blog. I make no promises as to what I'm going to write or even when. I write about whatever is on my mind when I get the chance (but I'm working on posting more often). Feel free to leave me messages about what you want to see here or what you think about what I've already said. See ya!

College... so far

I've been at SEMO for about a month and a half now. I had a pretty rough start due to a really crappy roommate, but I moved and now things are awesome. I always have way too much to do, but somehow manage to have plenty of down time too. Maybe that an advantage of college. Here's what my typical week looks like...

Sunday:
Sleep until about 10.
Go eat.
Lay around and be lazy.
Do homework that I've been putting off.
Be lazy some more.
Go to bed.

Monday:
Computer class at 8am.
Come back to my room and play on the internet, do homework, talk to people on facebook.
Political Systems at 10am with Ross.
Drop stuff off in Ross's room.
Go eat (usually at Towers cafeteria).
Work on homework.
Rock n Roll class at 1:30.
Come back and change clothes, get saxophone, whine about band.
Go to marching band rehearsal at 3:30.
Come back, drop stuff off, and eat.
Work on homework for the rest of the night.
Go to bed super late.

Tuesday:
Sleep in until 8:30ish. :-)
Go to English at 9:30.
Go to Mass Comm at 11.
Go back and drop stuff off and get food.
Do homework and watch TV and play on the internet.
Maybe take a nap.
Continue with homework, TV, internet.
Go to bed super late.

Go to bed super late.

Saturday:
This really depends. It ranges from going home to staying here and doing nothing productive to going on random trips with Ross. :-) But sometimes it's game day so I have marching band pretty much all day.

But this Saturday I get to go to McKendree College for the marching band competition. Johnston City will be there so me and Ross are going and I get to hang out with Grant and Isaac and my band kids. Plus... Carterville is going to be there so I get to surprise my cousin Bekah. I'm really excited!

Oh! I didn't talk about the igloo I live in! The AC was on which was fine for those hot summer days. Then it got cold. It was getting into the 40s outside at night. So you'd think they would turn off the AC. NOPE! It was so cold in here that I'm now fighting off a cold. I slept with 2 jackets and 3 blankets one night. Everybody was freezing to death. So now my vent is duct taped shut. We put in work orders (both of us because we're awesome like that) to get our AC shut off so we'll have to see what happens.

Next week is going to be absolutely INSANE! I have 2 regular rehearsals, a performance in Jackson on Tuesday night, a performance in St. Louis all day Wednesday, and it's HOMECOMING WEEK! AHH! Then we add in class and homework and tests and projects... I think I might die. Ehh. I had a good month and a half college career. :-)

Off to class... (stupid rock n roll...)

Blogging 101

I was writing a paper for Mass Comm class about websites that promote the marketplace of ideas and even had to find some websites that shouldn't be legally allowed on the internet. I came across blogger.com when I was searching for a website that basically promotes freedom of speech and realized that I had never had a blog. So I guess I'm going to try it and see what happens. It may be the most pointless thing I've ever done, or it could turn into something cool. I love to write. It's just a matter of finding the time. Heck, maybe this could turn into an outlet for me. We'll see I guess.

So for anybody who is crazy enough to read my ramblings...

I'm Brittany. I'm 18 and a freshman at Southeast Missouri State University. I'm a business major and a Golden Eagle (marching band). I've been at school for a month and I love it here! The only bad part is having to go to class and do homework. I could live without that, but it's ok because I can whine about school and do homework with somebody.

Which of course leads me to...

My dear boyfriend Ross. He's a freshman here with me and is so wonderful to me. He's not just my boyfriend though. He's my best friend. I go to him with all my stupid problems and he helps me figure out what the heck I'm doing. He goes out of his way for me even though he shouldn't. I could go on for hours about him, but I have homework to do.

I'm really kind of stuck as to what I want to talk about. I'm sure I'll come up with something.
