I finally got rid of that bottle of lotion! Yea!!!! So what happened?
I got an e-mail in response to a Craigslist article from a guy who's a fan of the project. He made an offer I was thrilled to take!
I now have a brand new, still in the plastic copy of iRobot on DVD. So who wants it? Make me an offer!
The World As I See It
Hello!
Welcome to my blog. I make no promises as to what I'm going to write or even when. I write about whatever is on my mind when I get the chance (but I'm working on posting more often). Feel free to leave me messages about what you want to see here or what you think about what I've already said. See ya!

Paperclip Project Update
I still have this silly bottle of lotion, and I can't seem to get rid of it. I might have to take a hit on some points so I don't totally fail the project. If that doesn't work, I suppose I'll get a new paperclip and start over. Please, let me know if you have ANYTHING you would like to trade.
I'm currently looking for a tenor sax so if you or someone you know has one they would trade, let me know what you would need for it. I'm trying to work backwards.
As far as getting the word out, I've posted on Facebook, a few Facebook groups, Twitter, 4 Craigslist ads, and Missouri Buy, Sell, Trade. I've e-mailed and texted several people about items I see listed and haven't gotten any feedback (though I did get a very rude voicemail from one). This is probably one of the most frustrating projects I've ever done simply because I'm stuck.
So I'm asking you to please share this with your friends. Help me get the word out that I'm looking for trades. If I fail this and get below a C in this class, I won't graduate. This project is THAT important so please help me out!!!

One Red Paperclip Project
Alright friends, as you probably know, I'm participating in the "One Red Paperclip" project in which I start with a single red paperclip and try to trade up to see what awesome stuff I can get. I've decided to blog about it so those interested can keep up with what I've traded and what I currently have. I'll also be on Facebook and Twitter about it. So here's where we are now...
10/15/12 - I was given a red paperclip in MG354 class to begin the project. I posted on Facebook about it and got some interest.
10/15/12 - I got an offer to trade my paperclip! I'll be giving it up for an 8oz bottle of Midnight Pomegranate lotion to Lydia Holland.
10/15/12 - Upon hearing about my deal, I received a comment about what a great gift it would be and the promise to look around and find something to trade.
10/16/12 - I woke up this morning to a message on Facebook asking me if I still need an upgrade and how long my project lasts. I'm waiting to hear back on what this person has. I also had a comment on a post about 2 brand new, women's, leather motorcycle jackets (which I'm thinking could work out later as I hardly think it's fair to try to trade those for a bottle of lotion). I'll be meeting Lydia this morning to get the lotion and would love to make another deal by the end of the day!

HUGE ACCOUNCEMENT
So I know I haven't been on here in... well just over 6 months. I just don't have the time to keep up with posting it seems. And I get easily distracted. Anyways, I am having the absolute best year ever so far (yes, I know it's only the first day) because I had a midnight surprise.
I'm engaged!
Chris asked me to marry him at midnight on New Year's Eve. I get to marry my best friend next year. I'm so excited to spend my life with him.
And yes, I know this post is purely selfish and a way for me to accounce my happiness to the world. Isn't that what every facebook status posted is?

Spring Break
Today is Saturday. I usually love Saturday, but not this week. This week I got to sit at home and relax for Spring Break. I capitalize it because it's that important to me. I was about to lose my mind at school so the break was much appreciated. I got to sleep in every day, not take any tests, only study for fraternity stuff, do minimal homework, go shopping, spend time with family, see some great friends, and of course play with my puppies.
But alas, all good things must come to an end. Tomorrow morning, I'll pack up my stuff, put on my professional clothes, and head back to Missouri. I love Southeast, and I have some fantastic friends there. It's just not home. I won't be back again until Easter. 33 long days at school until I'm home for a long weekend.
Despite this, I've decided to take a positive standpoint on it. I'm going to start fresh and be super productive. I'll actually do my class readings, kick butt on homework, knock tests out, whip out interviews like it's nobody's business, and still have a ton of fun. I'm determined to be happy even when things aren't going exactly right.
How can I not be happy? I have so much going for me and a ton of things to look forward to. VBS and camp are just around the corner. I'm only taking one class this summer. We're doing to be racing in about a month. I'm on the home stretch for this semester. I get to go to Kentucky Motor Speedway for my first Sprint Cup race. We booked a cruise for January to the southern caribbean. Hopefully, I'll be a member of AKPsi soon (still working on that). Wow, that's a lot of fantastic stuff coming my way.
It amazes me how easily I can get feeling down. It happens a lot more than I want it to. I really have to work hard to get back up, and that's what I've done. I have to put in effort and tell myself I'm going to be happy. Luckily, I'm stubborn enough to do whatever it takes to get what I want. It got tough last week. I was desperate to come home and get my mind off of school. After an entire week off, I'm feeling a million times better, and I'm ready to hit the last half of the semester hard. Let's do this!

Busy Busy Busy
So it's been a while since I posted anything on here. I guess that's the price I pay for being a fraternity pledge. Not too long after my last post, I was introduced to Alpha Kappa Psi and loved it. I'm currently in the middle of the pledge process. It's really time consuming and can be pretty stressful. Luckily, I have some really great active members to look up to and some awesome pledge brothers to sympathize with about the death of our outside lives. We get a break today though. Our scheduled service project was cancelled due to yesterday's rain, and our backup project was cancelled due to the current rain. So instead of service, my day today consists of...
Bekah's First STEP orientation. That's right. My dear cousin is coming to school here with me next year. Today, she has to sit through a bunch of boring meetings, get served not the greatest food in the world, and wait in a lot of lines. On the plus side, she'll leave today with her student ID and schedule for the fall. She's going into the pre-vet program so I have no idea what she's getting thrown in next semester. I'm so excited for her to be joining me on campus. We may be cousins, but she's like a little sister. It's going to be great for both of us because we'll always have a "built in friend" as my mom calls it.
In other news, well there isn't really any other news. My entire life is currently on this campus. I'm keeping up good grades though which I'm really happy about. Thank goodness spring break starts next Friday. I think a lot of people around here are about to lose their minds from the stress of college life. I can't wait to get home and spend a whole week with my family and friends. I miss them like crazy. Oh, and my puppies too of course. :-)

Thursday Love
Today is Thursday, and I'm waiting on my laundry to dry so that means I'm going to do a Things I Love Thursday to kill time. So here we go...
Moving back to school and having a great roommate.
Watching hours of TLC and talking about how sad some of the people are (pageant moms)/
Getting bonus points in science simply for showing up despite the whole maybe 2 inches of snow we got.
Controlling our own heat in our room and agreeing to keep it cranked up all the time.
Accomplishing everything on my to do list.
My Kindle!
Meeting lots of new people in classes.
Being ahead of the game on homework.
Awaiting the arrival of my first package in the mail because my mom knows how much I love love love getting mail.
My favoritest person in the world, my dear Benjamin.
Beating the huge lunch rush on campus.
SEMO getting a Papa Johns at the UC (even though they were closed yesterday due to running out of food...)
Having awesome teachers who relate the material to real life and make classes fun.
My building has WiFi internet so I'm not stuck to my ethernet cable.
Finding out some of my old friends are in a couple of my classes. :-)
Learning news that used to would make me go into a bad depression for a week and not caring a single bit (being 100% over the boy and his new girlfriend who screwed me over big time).
Knowing I have managed to snag the greatest guy in the world who I probably don't deserve.
Vending machines right downstairs for my caffeine and junk food needs.
Hearing a song and totally relating to it.
Amazing best friend hugs that involve me being off the ground.
Seeing friends for the first time in 8 months.
The insane amount of optimism I have for the coming semester. It's going to be AMAZING!!!!!
I hope you have lots of things to love this week too.
Love,
Brittany
