Today is Saturday. I usually love Saturday, but not this week. This week I got to sit at home and relax for Spring Break. I capitalize it because it's that important to me. I was about to lose my mind at school so the break was much appreciated. I got to sleep in every day, not take any tests, only study for fraternity stuff, do minimal homework, go shopping, spend time with family, see some great friends, and of course play with my puppies.
But alas, all good things must come to an end. Tomorrow morning, I'll pack up my stuff, put on my professional clothes, and head back to Missouri. I love Southeast, and I have some fantastic friends there. It's just not home. I won't be back again until Easter. 33 long days at school until I'm home for a long weekend.
Despite this, I've decided to take a positive standpoint on it. I'm going to start fresh and be super productive. I'll actually do my class readings, kick butt on homework, knock tests out, whip out interviews like it's nobody's business, and still have a ton of fun. I'm determined to be happy even when things aren't going exactly right.
How can I not be happy? I have so much going for me and a ton of things to look forward to. VBS and camp are just around the corner. I'm only taking one class this summer. We're doing to be racing in about a month. I'm on the home stretch for this semester. I get to go to Kentucky Motor Speedway for my first Sprint Cup race. We booked a cruise for January to the southern caribbean. Hopefully, I'll be a member of AKPsi soon (still working on that). Wow, that's a lot of fantastic stuff coming my way.
It amazes me how easily I can get feeling down. It happens a lot more than I want it to. I really have to work hard to get back up, and that's what I've done. I have to put in effort and tell myself I'm going to be happy. Luckily, I'm stubborn enough to do whatever it takes to get what I want. It got tough last week. I was desperate to come home and get my mind off of school. After an entire week off, I'm feeling a million times better, and I'm ready to hit the last half of the semester hard. Let's do this!
